Churches Using SMS Text Messaging to Engage Youth Groups (& Entire Congregations)
The most apparent group that can be moved to become more involved in the church is the young church goers. As the church utilizes sending and receiving information via SMS text messaging it will teach the youngest members not only more about the church but it will create a feeling of community. This method of communication is second nature to today’s youth, so it will make it easier for them to connect with and discuss things with the older church members.
Churches are now trying to move in another direction to add younger church goers to their flocks. Churches are now sending out SMS text messages to get information out and to ask their congregation questions via text messaging. While some churches have never latched on to the computer age and never contemplated sending emails, some churches have already advanced past the email stage using text messages for churches.
Text messaging for churches is a new way to stay in touch with the congregation that is immediate and effective. A pastor can prepare his sermon by sending out a question to his congregation via text and uses their responses in his sermon. It is a way to keep the congregation involved in church, while at the same time keeping them engaged listening for a response they may have given. It is a great way to get the pastor and the congregation on the same page.
Mobile marketing companies are utilizing text message marketing all the time so why can’t churches get their share of pie? Churches can use the text message to increase attendance on Sunday or just ask their congregation what they would like to see that would improve their experience in church.
Older members of the congregation may see SMS text messages as invasive or too high tech. Even the older members of the congregation will soon understand that SMS text messages could change the face of the church experience forever. The possibilities can be endless by using SMS text messages for everything from daily devotionals, to activity updates, to ad hoc giveaways to keep the congregation involved.
Another positive aspect of text messaging for churches is the process of collections for church programs or charities. Text messages can be sent out reminding the congregation of a specific charity or possibly reminders to bring clothes for Goodwill or Toys for Tots. SMS text messages are personal, so it is a great way for churches to engage their parishioners at a higher level
Mobile phone donations growing.
Proportion has doubled since the end of last year, says the fundraising website
The proportion of people who use their mobile phones to donate to charities through the website has doubled since the end of last year.
Elizabeth , head of insight at the website, told Third Sector that before Christmas about 7 per cent of people visiting the site used smart phones, but by April this year it had risen to 15 per cent.
Towards the end of January, she said, at the website had updated its site to make it more viewer-friendly for smart phones users; since then, the number of transactions from smart phones had more than doubled.
She said charities should tap into this trend. "It's a growth area that charities can capitalize on with their fund raising campaigns because it gives people the opportunity of an instant response," she said.
Jo , senior manager of digital at Cancer Research, said the proportion of visits to its The website pages from mobile phones had increased from 4 per cent to 12 per cent in the past year.
Joe , co-founder of the consultancy Synergy said that, despite this trend, charities should focus their energies on securing text message donations for the time being. He said SMS was a more spontaneous method because it did not involve registering on a site or inputting credit card details.
"If we can get everyone to pre register for these things, that will be great, but we're a long way off that," he said.
Dentists know that one of their biggest expenses is patients missing their appointment. With a SMS service, dental offices are able to reach their patients in an immediate way without dialing for hours. Asking for a return phone call to confirm their appointment has become a very effective way to communicate, and very cost effective. Also can be used for the latest health advancements. Because SMS is immediate, effective, and inexpensive dentists are embracing it as a way to increase their bottom line.
In this article, I’m going to share with you the top reasons why every restaurant should be using text messaging. I think that you will find these strategies useful and that they’ll save you thousands of dollars when you start using SMS Text Messaging.
After the Holidays downturn, this is the best time for you to start thinking about promoting your restaurant to capture the always elusive customers.
But before you start spending your hard earn money in ads, I would suggest that you think about a new way of attracting new customers and bringing back your existing ones using the one tool that all of them always have at their disposal.
The tool that I am referring to is their phones, and the new way to attract them is to use the power of Text Messages (or SMS)
If your restaurant has not begun to use SMS marketing yet, you are probably giving away extra income to your competitors who do use mobile marketing.
Placing ads in newspapers and magazines is not only expensive but pretty much a waste of money. Email campaigns aren't effective anymore because of the email overload and abundance of spam with an open-rate of marketing emails between 10-20% on average.
Text messages, on the other hand, are opened 97% of the time... and 83% of them within the first hour!
This means that if you are not using SMS mobile marketing to promote your restaurant, you are not getting your information, offers, discounts, etc. in front of your willing customers.
But there is a caveat on using SMS marketing. Because reading a message in a phone is a more personal experience than reading an ad or even an email, users are very sensitive about receiving unwanted messages. This is the reason why you should NEVER hire a company that provides you with a pre-existing list of customers or you will risk to alienate them so that they'll never visit your restaurant again. It's called an SMS service company. That would be me.

Through the use of SMS marketing and mobile advertising, the real estate agents can increase their marketing effectiveness and reduce their efforts at the same time. With the help of mobile short codes and keywords, real estate agents can use this technology to deliver comprehensive data about their properties directly to the clients.
By inserting a tiny URL into the text message, the agent can deliver a link to the full MLS (multi listing service) listing, or a custom landing page. This links helps in connecting the customers to the web page which has the complete listing details, such as, video, map, multiple images, and contact information. This process of letting a customer to access a web page by an SMS is called as web based SMS marketing. Customers with web enabled phones can only benefit from web based SMS marketing.
Benefits:
Working Always: This system of advertising works always for the business regardless of the time.
Full Details: The system can deliver a link to the full MLS listing.
Cost Effective: It is far more cost effective than print advertisement.
Flexibility: Instant changes can be made to the response message.
Data Collection: Collects the cell phone number of every customer so that they can reply to them in person.
Information about the property is available 24/7.
It collects prospects and house hunters of all kinds.
It is inexpensive, effective information delivery system.
Update of information like price changes can be done immediately instead of reprinting brochures and saves money on copying brochures.
The system is Green – no paper, no ink, no driving to refill boxes
Because of the above benefits, SMS marketing is considered to be advantageous for real estate.

San Francisco, CA (Attorney Mobile Marketing News) — Has your law firm and lawyer marketing agency been tossing around the idea of creating an attorney mobile marketing campaign? Not sure whether you’ll reach a deep potential client pool and have the ROI that you’d hoped for? Well, the time is now—lawyer mobile marketing campaigns are an up and coming avenue to target consumers who choose to access the Internet from their smartphones.
eMarketer reported, “The US mobile web population will be up almost 25% this year as 97.3 million mobile owners log on to the Internet from their device at least monthly.” In addition, eMarketer forecasts indicate that more than three in five mobile users and almost half of the total US population will be using mobile Internet by 2015.
The mobile Web is popular among iPhone, Android and other smartphone users, who like to log on while on the go or because they lack a home or laptop computer. Now that most websites have become mobile Web compatible, many people no longer see the need to buy a computer, because sometimes it’s easier to surf the Web via their smartphone than logging on to a computer.
Because smartphone-using consumers are on the go, they heavily rely on location-based services to find and locate business while using the mobile Web. According to a new Pew study, nearly 60 percent of those relying on smartphones use at least one location-based service. To achieve top website ranking on these location-based services—like Google, Facebook, Yelp and Around Me—you need to employ Mobile SEO tactics, which will help potential clients find your law firm on the mobile Internet, as reported in a previous article, “Attorney SEM: Local SEO Tactics for Mobile Web Can Pay Off Big for Lawyers.”
Lawyer marketing agencies, like Cepac lawyer marketing, have noticed this trend and are advising law firms to consider an attorney mobile marketing campaign for three reasons:
• Accessibility: As the statistics noted, millions of people are logging onto the Web via their smartphones. This is a demographic lawyers could be missing out on if they pass up this viable lawyer marketing tactic. Mobile Web is available virtually anywhere (aside from provider dead zones). Your lawyer marketing message can easily be received by potential clients who are surfing the Web while recovering from an injury accident, at an accident scene or while enjoying a cup of coffee a few days following a traffic accident. These messages could have been missed by these potential clients if you had not been employing attorney mobile marketing campaigns
• You Can Use Your Existing Lawyer Marketing Tools: By simply making your lawyer website mobile Web friendly, you open your law firm up to potential clients who are searching for an attorney via their smartphone. Having a mobile Web compatible attorney website will help to keep potential clients on your page, and keep them from leaving your lawyer website to visit another law firm’s webpage that is mobile Web friendly.
• Mobile Ads Use Tools Created for Mobile Devices: Mobile ads for lawyers can include touch screen tools, location sensing and click-to-options. These options can really enhance the mobile web experience for the consumer and make seamless transition from the ad to your lawyer website.
• Potential Client Reach: As eMarketer pointed out, almost half of the total U.S. population will soon be using mobile Internet. Failing to include this potential client pool can limit the amount of new and lucrative cases your law firm could obtain. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
